Role OverviewPrime Air Flight Support Personnel play a critical role in daily drone flight operations. This position focuses on ground-handling activities—including drone staging, package flow, battery management, and operational readiness—to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality mission execution.
Note: This is not a drone pilot or flight monitor role. However, strong performers may advance into flight monitor positions, especially those who hold an FAA Part 107 certificate.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in daily pre-briefs and debriefs, including updates to mission plans and SOPs (2–3 updates per week).
- Conduct FOD (Foreign Object Debris) walks to maintain ramp and airfield safety.
- Set up the flight paddock, including drone preparation, station readiness, and test card confirmation.
- Execute assigned ground-handling duties: drone launch, package flow, battery staging, and drone recovery.
- Move drones (up to 80 lbs with wheels) and batteries (22 lbs each) in accordance with ergonomic safety limits (approx. 32 lifts/hour).
- Deliver charged batteries and fuel cells to operational teams on the paddock.
- Operate the Pumba (TC33) scanner device for task assignments and operational permissions.
- Collaborate with warehousing, pilot, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure mission success.
- Drive Amazon fleet vehicles for flight test support (no personal vehicle use).
- Respond appropriately to operational pauses triggered by weather, construction cranes, hot air balloons, paragliders, or Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs).
Physical & Ergonomic Requirements- Ability to walk extensively—up to 18 miles per day in some operational environments.
- Capable of lifting and maneuvering drones and batteries safely within ergonomic guidelines.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks and remain on feet throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (preferred but not required).
- Experience in general aviation, airport operations, or ramp services (e.g., FBO or aircraft servicing).
- Familiarity with DOT and FAA regulations, hazardous materials handling, and battery safety protocols.
- Aviation background welcomed, though ideal candidates are committed to ground/operational roles (high-turnover roles such as commercial pilots seeking flight hours may not be ideal).
Shift Requirements- Must be able to work both schedule structures:
- Front half: Sunday–Wednesday
- Back half: Wednesday–Saturday
- Beginning in April, shifts will expand to include AM and PM schedules, resulting in four total shift options.

- Previous work in fast‑paced, shift‑based, or high‑volume warehouse environments.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements- 12‑month contract with potential for extension or conversion.
- Warehouse setting—indoor and outdoor work required.
- Up to 25 travel for training or operational needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for up to 12‑hour shifts.
- Work in varying weather conditions.
- Must be available for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pendleton, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
