Responsibilities
The Sr. Internal Communications Manager is the internal champion of the Spirit brand. This position is responsible for driving the overarching internal communications strategy and tactics across all channels to inform and engage Spirit Family Members across all functions throughout the network. This role is also responsible for leading high-priority, confidential projects rooted in change management, crafting executive communications, leading the rotation of on-call support, and developing Team Members.
- Works with the Directors to set the Internal Communications strategy and develops high-quality and high-impact communications that enhance the culture and brand.
- Engages our Spirit Team Members through communications campaigns, ensuring they are aware of corporate news, performance metrics, vision, values, and updates.
- Empowers Team Members to be brand ambassadors to our Guests and our communities.
- Utilizes current channels including email, video, meetings/events, Spirit LiNK intranet/SharePoint, presentations and virtual town halls and occasional station visits and ensures messages are delivered via the right channel to the appropriate audience.
- Works with internal resources and outside vendors to develop regular cadence of videos including Spirit Skies, Team Member/Station Focus, More Go Mornings with Bendo as well as special and annual videos including Year In Review; Spirit history, etc.
- Ensures messages capture our brand voice, are aligned, and effectively implemented.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to collect, create/edit presentations in PowerPoint ensuring flow and consistency in brand tone and messaging.
- Works closely with other Communications team members and Leadership to support key communication efforts, including monthly Leadership meetings, quarterly all employee meetings (virtual town halls), annual managers meeting and other events.
- Works cross-functionally across all departments partnering effectively with all levels of of the organization.
- Listens, communicates and uses the power of influence to effectively create seamless collaboration and seeks to fully understand needs (not just wants) of stakeholders
- Anticipates stakeholder needs, and develops and discusses potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required.
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of these communications and make changes to drive even better results.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations on new ways to inform and engage our Spirit Team Members
- Leads efforts of the Internal Communications Sr Specialist/Specialist/Manager to ensure internal stakeholder requests are fulfilled effectively and efficiently and Brand Guidelines are followed.
- Provides leadership, support, and development to direct reports.
- Serves as the internal communications expert supporting Leadership and stakeholders throughout the company.
- Oversee SharePoint content.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent experience.
- 7 years of Communication experience and 5 years of People Management experience.
- Able to oversee the development of videos from conception to completion including scripting, directing, editing, storytelling and distributing.
- Strong written and verbal communications, and message crafting skills.
- Experienced in internal communications strategy and best practices with focus on what’s next.
- Knowledge of SharePoint intranet design and usage.
- Skilled in graphic design/layout visual look and feel to emphasize messaging to align/communicate brand and culture.
- Strong PowerPoint presentation skills to include content and style.
- Must balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible; able to transition fluidly from one project to another.
- Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant details.
- Strong attention to detail, time/project management and organization skills.
- Listens to understand and actively reaches out to all relevant team members to create two-way understanding and transparency.

- Domestic and International travel approximately 25 of the time.
- Exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of Sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
