Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) Digital Engineering is seeking a SEIT (Systems Engineering & Integration Team) Project Management Specialist in Huntsville, AL. BDS Digital Engineering is a mission-driven engineering organization focused on delivering next-generation enterprise digital transformation tool – Sapphire for Boeing commercial and defense programs. This role partners with IT, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and stakeholders to plan, track, and deliver program objectives on schedule, within budget, and to the required technical performance and safety standards. The Project Management Specialist will report to the Sr Manager of the SEIT organization and partner day-to-day with Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, PIO (Program Integration Office) and customer program managers.
Position Responsibilities:
Define program scope, objectives, schedule, budget, and success criteria; maintain program plans and artifacts
Drive cross-functional coordination among systems engineering, integration, test, software, hardware, manufacturing, and suppliers
Manage program risks and issues; develop mitigation plans and escalate when necessary
Track and report program status, milestones, and KPIs to senior leadership and customers
Facilitate program-level technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR), integration events, and system-level design. Dev. test and release campaigns
Lead change control and configuration management activities in coordination with engineering and systems teams
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety requirements and internal processes
Mentor and coordinate with project leads, schedule managers, and technical teams to ensure alignment and execution
Manage program financials including budgets, forecasts, and variance explanations. - Support customer engagement, program reviews, and contract deliverables
Flexible to travel to other Boeing sites once or twice a quarter for reviews and workshops
Coordinate SEIT priorities with the team and run the technical and staff meetings
Candidate should be able to create WBS and SOW’s for team in collaboration with the leadership
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership and customers
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): (please see education and experience for the level below)
Bachelors degree.
5+ years of program or project management experience preferably in aerospace, defense, or complex systems engineering environments.
5+ years of experience managing cross-functional technical programs involving hardware and software integration.
5+ years of experience with program planning, scheduling (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent), and risk management.
5+ years excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership and customers.
5+ years of proven ability to lead teams, influence without direct authority, and drive decisions in a matrixed organization.
5+ years of experience with systems engineering processes, configuration management, and/or product lifecycle management.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Systems Engineering, or MBA.
Program Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
Experience with integrated product teams and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
Prior experience with flight systems, avionics, test & integration labs, or safety-critical system development.
Familiarity with systems engineering processes, configuration management, and program & product lifecycle management.
Experience working with suppliers and managing supplier performance.
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 4
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years related work experience, 14 years related work experience, etc.).
