Position Overview:
Exercise operational control of the day-to-day aviation operations of air ambulance programs in the United States and/or as assigned. Ensure personnel assigned to their area of responsibility, comply with PHI, FAA, and individual program standards and requirements.
Job Summary:
Irrespective of the duties assigned to them, the Aviation Manager will always be responsible for the overall aviation operational control, management and safety of the assigned bases through management and oversight of (but not limited to) the following areas:
Assist the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot in exercising Operational Control of aircraft and resources at assigned bases.
Manages and coordinates the execution of goals and objectives for assigned PHI Health flight program(s) consistent with the mission and goals of the PHI Health Group.
Leads and facilitates effective operational changes for improvement in quality and/or efficiency.
Coordinate efforts between bases to achieve consistent processes and cohesive flow of information internally and externally.
Responsible for problem solving and follow-up on operational issues through collaboration with the appropriate personnel.
Ensures aircraft and pilot availability per regional and company requirements.
Supervises startup of new aviation bases, provides qualified pilots, and ensures safety training/orientation provided.
Coordinates with Maintenance Manager to insure the availability of airworthy aircraft.
Ensures pilot compliance of established PHI, FAA, OSHA, and customer practices, regulations, and procedures.
Coordinate and bring to resolution customer and PHI issues.
Monitor performance of pilots assigned to their area.
Work with Program Directors, AMBS and Customers to resolve pilot administrative problems.
Supports and practices the company’s Safety initiative of Destination Zero.
Directly reports to the Chief Operations Officer for management and PHI business activities.
Reports to Director of Operations for all aviation operational control activities.
Duties as assigned.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
High school diploma.
Helicopter pilot with Commercial and Instrument Rating.
Five years operational management/supervisory experience, preferably in the Health/Aviation industry.
Willingness to travel.
Willingness to work non-standard work hours.
Above average written and verbal communications skills.
Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to pass pre-placement drug screening and background screen
