Build and Repair the Backbone of Flight as a Structures Mechanic
Location: San Antonio, TX Schedule: Must be available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st 2nd and 3rd shift. Pay Rate: $45 (no A&P) - $50 (A&P)

About the RoleAs a Structures Mechanic, you will maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structural components with precision and expertise. Your work will directly impact aircraft safety, performance, and reliability. From structural repairs to complex modifications, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring aircraft are mission-ready and operating at peak performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical aircraft structures and fracture-critical areas
Install and repair structural components such as doublers, triplers, stringers, seat tracks, and support structures
Locate and drill blind holes for installation of new structural components
Execute sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation processes per standard repair procedures
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and manufacturer manuals to complete structural modifications and repairs
Use specialized tools and equipment including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, rivet guns, and sheet metal brakes
Access and utilize computer systems for work instructions, drawings, and documentation
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems including structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and related components
Support and occasionally lead team efforts on complex maintenance and modification tasks
Make accurate entries in aircraft logs and records
Operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and elevated platforms as needed
Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Required QualificationsMinimum 4+ years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience
Demonstrated expertise in close tolerance drilling, reaming, fastening, and structural installation
Experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel
Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals
Hands-on experience with structures tools including 45°/90° drills, countersink cages, rivet guns, and hole finders
Thorough knowledge of aircraft structural repair procedures and sheet metal modifications
Proficiency with basic computer systems and aircraft-related software
Knowledge of shop mathematics and standard operating procedures
Ability to obtain customer approval for aircraft access (background check required; dual citizenship may impact eligibility)
Ability to meet physical requirements including climbing, lifting, confined space work, and use of PPE
Preferred QualificationsExperience with VIP or specialty aircraft interiors
Background in depot-level or heavy structures maintenance
Experience working on executive fleet platforms
FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification
Work Environment & ExpectationsAbility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on mission needs
Exposure to elevated platforms, noise, and confined spaces
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and overhead work
Must maintain certifications and adhere to all safety and compliance requirements
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
