NDT Level III (Aerospace Mobile Composites)
The NDT Level III provides technical leadership and oversight for non-destructive testing activities supporting aerospace manufacturing, MRO, and mobile field operations. This role serves as the subject matter expert for ultrasonic testing (UT) and composite inspections, with full responsibility for procedure development, technical approvals, and compliance with aerospace standards. The Level III ensures inspection integrity, regulatory adherence, and effective support of production and field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the technical authority for NDT methods, with primary emphasis on Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- Develop, write, review, and approve NDT procedures, techniques, and work instructions in accordance with NAS 410, ASTM, FAA, and customer aerospace requirements.
- Provide hands-on and remote technical support for mobile and on-site inspections.
- Perform and oversee inspections of aerospace composite materials, including bonded structures and advanced composites.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and codes to ensure proper NDT application.
- Review and evaluate inspection data, perform advanced analysis, and make accept/reject determinations.
- Train, mentor, and technically support NDT Level I and II personnel, including certification oversight.
- Support aerospace production, repair, and MRO environments while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
- Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve inspection issues and improve inspection processes.
- Maintain certification records, training documentation, and qualification files.
Required Qualifications- NDT Level III certification in Ultrasonic Testing (NAS 410 or equivalent aerospace standard).
- Strong experience supporting mobile and field-based NDT operations.
- Extensiveinspecting aerospace composite materials.
- Proven experience writing, approving, and maintaining NDT procedures and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to travel and support on-site inspection activities.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Experience- Multi-method Level III certification (UT required; PT, MT, or RT a plus).
- Experience supporting aerospace OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or MRO organizations.
- Exposure to advanced UT techniques such as PAUT or TOFD.
- Experience in FAA-regulated environments.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $90.00/hr.
