Job Description:

Position SummaryReporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner is primarily responsible for supporting the maintenance control system in areas of maintenance planning, defect control and technical dispatch.Personal CharacteristicsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesSupport of the maintenance control system; this includes ensuring that all aspects are met to support dispatch of the aircraftPlan and issue work packages to the approved AMO in order to comply with the applicable maintenance schedule, mandatory airworthiness limitation requirements and deferred defectsGenerate tolerance requests as requiredResearch aircraft maintenance requirements and develop workable plan for an efficient and cost-effective accomplishment of workWork closely with aircraft scheduling in regards to aircraft routing and required down time to accomplish maintenance activitiesLiaise with materials management group and maintenance bases to coordinate future maintenance activitiesActively participate in repeat snag, heavy maintenance and reliability meetingsWork with the Fleet Managers for the efficient implementation of modifications and snag rectificationLine maintenance planning activities as assignedHeavy maintenance planning activities as assignedLiaise with outside MROs for contracted maintenance activitiesActively monitor completed work for verification that required tasks have been completed in a timely manner and all deferred maintenance items have been planned correctlySupport and development of long-term heavy maintenance planning scheduleWork with the technical records department to provide scheduling and QC supportPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsValid AME (M1 or M2) license considered an assetPreference given to candidates possessing DHC-8 endorsement and/or SA-226/227 experienceIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork performed primarily in an office environment
