Pay Rate: $43.05/hr ($37.96 base + $5.09 H&W)
Keep Mission-Critical Aircraft Connected and Combat-ReadyPDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization to hire an Avionics Mechanic (Associate) supporting the C-17 program. In this high-impact role, you’ll work on advanced avionics systems that are essential to aircraft communication, navigation, and mission success.

What You’ll DoAs an Avionics Mechanic, you will:
- Troubleshoot, test, and repair advanced avionics systems including communications, navigation, radar, and data links
- Perform aircraft bench and/or flight line operational testing in accordance with DOD and manufacturer standards
- Analyze circuits, signal flow, and system performance using advanced test equipment
- Assemble, install, and modify wire bundles and avionics components
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical instructions
- Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in avionics systems and assembly processes
- Use precision measuring instruments and tools to ensure quality and compliance
- Maintain certifications and adhere to safety, tool control, and FOD procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production and maintenance goals
- Assist in training junior team members and may lead complex task assignments
- Ensure safe working conditions through Hazardous Energy and Lockout/Tagout procedures
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
- Experience with C-17 or other heavy aircraft platforms
- Experience working with avionics systems (Comm/Nav, radar, data links, weapons systems)
- 4+ years of experience interpreting schematics, specifications, and assembly drawings
- 3+ years of experience with aircraft computer systems and standard office software
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with applied technical knowledge
- Ability to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with C-17 modifications
- Background working with COMSEC, radar, or electronic systems
- Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and powered elevating equipment
- Leadership experience guiding teams through complex technical tasks
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs (team lifts for heavier items)
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, on ladders, and elevated platforms
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception tests
- Comfortable working in high-noise environments
