Summary
Provides services for the 531st and 532nd Commodities Maintenance Squadrons (CMMXS) at the 309th Commodities Maintenance Group (CMXG), Depot On-Site Contract Augmentee Teams 5 (DOCAT5), Hill AFB, UT. Support includes the technical repair and overhaul of landing gear, fuel tanks, pylons, screw jacks, hydraulics,
and pneudraulics for the following platforms:
C-5, C-17, C-130, B-1B, B-2, B-52, KC-135, A-10, T-38, E-2, E-3, F-4, F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, MH-53, and MH-60 in accordance with the Air Force technical directives, applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting C-5, C-17, C-130, B-1B, B-2, B-52, KC-135, A-10, T-38, E-2, E-3, F-4, F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, MH-53, and MH-60.
Essential Functions
- Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
- Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
- Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Duties
- Technical Directive compliance and modifications
- Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
- Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
- Document maintenance actions per AFI requirements
Qualifications
- Must have two (2) years of aircraft maintenance experience and should have experience guiding/instructing/mentoring less experienced technicians.
- Shall possess thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting, sheet metal repair, structural modification, component replacement, and basic electrical theory, and perform a range of electroplating work including operations that require plating or treatment of limited or precisely defined areas on parts; require special treatment and processing, to include but not limited to shot peening and blast, to ensure adherence of the metallic deposit or coating; or require extensive or precise controls of the electrolytic or chemical process.
- Must be able to work, day, swing or mid shift as required
- Depot “D” Level experience preferred
- Favorable Tier 3 Investigation if required and CAC required
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
