Job Description
The Aviation Interior Technician is responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing aircraft interior cabinetry and related components. This role involves working with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and adhering to FAA quality standards. The position supports the production and refurbishment of commercial aircraft interiors, including galleys, monuments, closets, bulkheads, and storage units while maintaining strict safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assemble aircraft interior cabinets, monuments, and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Perform drilling, fitting, fastening, bonding, and alignment of cabinet components made from wood, composite, aluminum, and honeycomb materials.
- Install hardware such as hinges, latches, drawer slides, brackets, and fasteners as per specifications.
- Read and interpret aircraft interior drawings, pick sheets, trim and finish documents, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment to ensure precise assembly and tolerances.
- Conduct in-process inspections and final checks to verify fit, finish, and functional operation of assemblies.
- Maintain accurate production documentation, logs, and quality records in accordance with company and FAA requirements.
- Follow all safety, housekeeping (5S), and FOD prevention practices.
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and finishing teams to resolve fit or assembly issues.
- Support rework, repairs, and modifications as required by production or quality findings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision to support production schedules.
Position Requirements
- 1–3+ years of experience in aircraft interiors, cabinetmaking, woodworking, or aerospace assembly.
- Experience with aircraft interior materials such as Nomex honeycomb, laminates, veneers, and composites.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations, quality systems, or MRO/OEM production environments.
- Prior experience assembling galleys, closets, lavatories, or cabin monuments.
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume production environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work standing for extended periods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
