Aerojet Rocketdyne a L3 Harris Technologies Company is seeking a Project Engineer for our Huntsville, AL. The Specialist, Project Engineer role involves performing and/or coordinating propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under general supervision, this role may be responsible for implementing design and analysis tasks and overseeing special studies and experiments not typically considered complex. Familiarity with standard engineering tools and practices will be helpful with analysis of issues.
Essential Functions:
- Theories, principles and practices of engineering and project management methods.
- May coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses.
- Perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting while supporting the program technical lead.
- Use of engineering test equipment, CAD, and computer applications with various office and engineering software applications.
- Rocket propulsion component(s) and theory of operation.
- Understanding and/or leading Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
- Read and interpret specifications (also write) and technical drawings.
- Conduct technical and programmatic risk assessments.
- Interpret and evaluate engineering problems and statements.
- Use a variety of test and measurement equipment to interpret data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior project engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior project engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior project engineering experience.
