How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The successful candidate serves as an engineer within Deltas TechOps Engineering organization. The tasks associated with this role are specific to the engineering group and include, but are not limited to, the following:Fleet Avionics Engineering - Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS)Provides aircraft engineering support to a variety of internal customers and outside suppliers to support daily operations and long-term reliability/cost effectiveness.Reviews, recommends, and implements manufacturer’s service bulletins and other correspondence to affected fleets.Identify and develop solutions to maintain aircraft safety, reliability, and capability.Research, develop, and manage avionics equipment installation and retrofit projects. Includes on-site verification of project work instructions (Mock-Ups).Maintains compliance with applicable FAA regulations and Deltas Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP) pertaining to the development of equipment alterations.Provides status for aircraft issues through various briefings and documentation.Supports maintaining the configuration and installation of Avionics software for Delta’s fleets.Supports shop, hangar, and line maintenance in troubleshooting and providing corrective actions, including repair or deviation documentation for assigned discipline.Maintains aircraft cybersecurity protocols, policy, and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Candidates for this position should have:B.S. in Engineering.3+ years in aviation experienceComputer programming or software development skills with Matlab, C++, Python are desirable. For internal candidates, must be performing satisfactorily in current position.Accepts personal responsibility for assignments and acts with a sense of urgency when initiating the necessary steps to complete them. Asks appropriate questions to ensure complete understanding of the task / objective and how solutions impact safety, schedules, and budgets.Recognizes that shifting priorities and changing objectives are normal in a business environment. What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) Previous airline, military, OEM, or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is preferred.Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering experience with Avionics focus.Ability to interpret analytical reports, FARs, AD’s, and other engineering documents/drawings.Understanding of Aircraft Field Loadable Software support and implementation
