The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Experienced or Lead Mechanical System Design Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.
A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2), Bombers, or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fuels system of the E-7A, providing expertise in the design and sustainment.
Position Responsibilities:
Apply knowledge of E-7A design and engineering principles to assess and resolve operational issues through the aircraft’s lifecycle
Develop and release interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness
Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design
Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups
Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals
Supports system components designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation
Trains others

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Practical experience and knowledge of Fuels, Hydraulic Systems and/or Flight Controls
Able to create, execute, review, and manage structural design models
5+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
5+ years of experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Secret Clearance
Experience validating or verifying Hydraulic Systems, Fuel Systems, Flight Controls, Actuation and Controls
Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
Experience with analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

Summary pay range:
Experienced (Level 3) - $88,400 - $119,600
Lead (Level 4) - $107,100 - $144,900
