The Business and Operations Analytics Team specializes in delivering high-impact analytics solutions by harnessing data from diverse customer interaction points—web, mobile, call centers, and airport operations. The team ensures that business metrics are timely, accurate, and actionable.
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software applications using Python. You will work closely with senior engineers and other team members to design and implement cloud-based solutions on AWS using Lambdas and API gateway. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with limited professional experience to grow their skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Core Capabilities
  • Real-Time & Near-Real-Time Metrics
    • Design and maintain pipelines that capture and process operational and customer data with minimal latency.
    • Enable proactive monitoring and rapid response to business trends and anomalies.
  • Data Harvesting & Integration
    • Develop and maintain custom Python-based frameworks for scalable data ingestion and transformation.
    • Leverage Microsoft Fabric for orchestrating and managing data workflows across the enterprise.
  • Application Development
    • Build internal customer-facing applications using AngularJS for responsive and intuitive user interfaces.
    • Implement backend services using Python-based AWS Lambdas and API Gateway, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Data Storage & Management
    • Use PostgreSQL for operational data storage and transactional workloads.
    • Employ Teradata for enterprise-scale analytics, historical data analysis, and reporting.
  • Business Intelligence & Reporting
    • Design and publish Power BI dashboards to visualize key business metrics.
    • Provide stakeholders with interactive, self-service reporting tools to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud applications.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 1+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Basic understanding of AWS services and cloud computing concepts.
  • Languages & Frameworks: Python, AngularJS
  • Cloud & APIs: AWS Lambda, API Gateway
  • Data Platforms: Microsoft Fabric, PostgreSQL, Teradata
  • BI Tools: Power BI
  • Custom Tools: Proprietary Python frameworks for data harvesting and processing
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Open to receiving constructive feedback and continuously improving skills and performance based on insights from peers and supervisors.

  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience in D3 PowerBI Development
  • Experience with microservices and serverless computing.
  • Experience coding in React is a plus
  • Understanding of networking and security principles in cloud environments
