Summary:
Apply technical knowledge and independent judgment to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex avionics issues beyond standard manuals.
Perform bench and flight line operational testing, assembly, installation, and modification of aircraft wire bundles in accordance with DOD, company, and supplier directives.
Lead or assist teams on complex tasks, train junior staff, and prioritize workload to meet project schedules.
Interpret schematics, blueprints, wire diagrams, and technical documentation to complete assignments accurately.
Use precision instruments and tools to verify dimensions and quality compliance.
Maintain certifications, licenses, and permits required for assigned work.
Follow safety protocols, including Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems, and handle tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.
Work in confined spaces, ascend/descend ladders, lift up to 35 lbs, and adapt to varied shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays.
Collaborate with other team members (mechanics, structures, electrics) to meet cost, schedule, and quality goals.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; U.S. Citizen (per ITAR).
Experience with C-17 or other heavy aircraft platforms.
Experience with aircraft avionics systems (Comm, Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar).
3+ years in applied mathematics, statistics, or related field.
4+ years working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs.
3+ years supporting aircraft computer systems and basic office software.
Able to work in confined spaces, ascend/descend ladders, lift up to 35 lbs, and perform occasional two-person lifts over 50 lbs.
Frequent walking, standing, balancing, overhead reaching, and occasional climbing (3 12 ft).
Able to rotate head/neck, sit, crawl, squat, bend/stoop, lie down, and operate foot controls for extended periods.
Use PPE for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms; pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials safely; maintain required certifications.
Frequent exposure to noise and elevated platforms; occasional contact with metals.
Able to interpret detailed written and verbal work instructions.
