Summary and Objective
The Parts Specialist is responsible for managing the inventory, handling, and distribution of parts and materials used in avionics and maintenance operations. This role ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key duties include tracking parts, inspecting incoming items, maintaining proper storage, managing inventory levels, and ensuring safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. The position plays a vital role in supporting maintenance operations by ensuring the availability and quality of necessary parts and supplies.

- Identifying, controlling, segregating, and maintaining parts and materials for avionics and maintenance.
- Preservation of all items while in inventory including parts subject to deterioration or shelf-life limits.
- Distributing any pertinent information received by the stock room to other company departments as required.
- Inspecting incoming parts for traceability, identification, documentation and overall condition.
- Ensures defective, scrap, and unserviceable articles are properly identified, segregated from new or serviceable stock, quarantined, and mutilated at disposal in accordance with the Establishment of reorder thresholds
- Maintaining inventory control, (quarterly rotating count)
- Review of work orders to ensure all parts are issued.
- Packaging, shipping & receiving of companywide materials
- The proper marking of all chemicals for shelf-life and hazards
- Ensuring all expired chemicals are segregated from stock, quarantined and properly disposed of.
- Assuring that any HAZMAT items offered for shipment are properly packaged and identified to comply with 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations.
- Any other duties as assigned

Work environment
- Typical office and computer lab environment with frequent interruptions.
- Exposure to loud noises including airplane machinery and jet engines.
