Job Summary:
The SAP QM Functional Lead will be a key member of our IT team, responsible for leading the design, implementation, configuration, and support of SAP Quality Management (QM) solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of quality management business processes, strong SAP QM module expertise, and the ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams. The lead will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure system integrity, and provide expert guidance on SAP QM best practices.
Qualification & Experience:
As a SAP QM functional analyst, he/she should have a good understanding of the Airbus QM landscape and also SAP standard QM functionalities. You area of responsibility will include but not only understand the business requirements and provide best suited SAP solution by carrying out fit-gap analysis, maintain proper documentation (including test documents, solution dossier etc), performance improvement understanding and proposals
The candidate will join the Quality Product as a functional analyst, providing digital solutions to manage quality business processes throughout the Aircraft Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Services organizations. As such, he/she needs to have a strong customer and team focus. He/she needs to have regular business interactions for identifying & understanding the Business Evolution Points.
The candidate will work in an international, distributed and multi-functional team using an agile mind-set and methodology.
8-10 years of extensive experience in SAP QM, including significant experience as a Functional Lead or Senior Consultant.
Proven track record of success in at least 3-5 full-lifecycle SAP QM implementations (Greenfield, rollouts, or S/4HANA conversions).
In-depth knowledge and hands-on configuration experience in all key areas of SAP QM, including:
Quality Planning (Master Inspection Characteristics, Inspection Methods, Inspection Plans, Sampling Procedures, Dynamic Modification Rules)
Quality Inspection (Inspection Lot Processing, Results Recording, Defects Recording, Usage Decisions, Quality Certificates)
Quality Notifications (Q1, Q2, Q3 – Internal, Customer Complaints, Vendor Returns)
Defect Management
Solid understanding of quality management processes and industry best practices (e.g., ISO standards, GMP).
Strong integration knowledge with other SAP modules (MM, PP, SD, PM, FICO) and experience with cross-functional dependencies.
Experience in developing functional specifications for RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) objects.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
SAP S/4HANA QM experience .
Experience with SAP Fiori applications for QM.
Knowledge of ABAP debugging to assist with issue resolution.
Relevant SAP QM certifications.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., ASAP, Agile).
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Implementation:
Lead the design and implementation of SAP QM solutions to meet complex business requirements, focusing on quality planning, inspection, control, and notifications.
Conduct workshops and gather detailed business requirements from various stakeholders (e.g., Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales).
Translate business requirements into functional specifications for SAP QM configurations and customizations.
Oversee the configuration of the SAP QM module, including master data setup (e.g., inspection plans, master inspection characteristics, sampling procedures), quality notifications (Q1, Q2, Q3), inspection lots, results recording, usage decisions, and quality certificates.
Design and implement integration points between SAP QM and other SAP modules (e.g., PP, MM, SD, PM, FICO) and external systems (e.g., LIMS, MES).
Project Leadership & Management:
Act as the SAP QM subject matter expert (SME) and lead for large-scale SAP implementation, rollout, and enhancement projects.
Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources for QM-related workstreams.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including business users, technical developers, and other functional leads.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior functional consultants.
System Support & Optimization:
Provide expert-level support for SAP QM issues, troubleshooting complex problems, and identifying root causes.
Proactively identify and propose business process and/or system enhancements to optimize quality management operations.
Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure efficiency and data integrity across all SAP QM processes.
Handle changes and emergency transports as needed.
Testing & Documentation:
Develop comprehensive test plans, conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Create and maintain detailed documentation for SAP QM configurations, functional designs, test cases, and user manuals.
